During inspection MI identified that excessive water was dousing generator and batteries and flooding engine room while paddle wheels were backing down. Water leaked into number 6 and 7 voids due to hatches were not seated properly. In addition water leaked through engine room bulkhead leading into the number 5 void. Engine room bulkhead is a fire bounder and is degraded. At each subsequent inspection owner shall be prepared to have vessel ready for inspection of all weather tight and watertight enclosures. Provide repair proposal to stop excessive water ingress into engine room and repair engine room bulkhead to the satisfaction of the attending Coast Guard Marine inspector.
