It was discovered that he vessel was hauled out at Bayonne Dry-dock & Repair to have a shaft replaced. The local Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI)was never notified of the haul-out or of the damaged shaft. The master, owner, operator, or agent of the vessel shall notify the OCMI whenever the vessel is to be dry-docked regardless of the reason for dry-docking, the OCMI, upon notification, will determine whether to assign a marine inspector to examine the underwater hull of the vessel.
