Before the ship leaves port and at all times during the voyage, all life-saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use. PSCO’s observed approximately 30 lifejackets that were excessively worn and/or torn. PSCOs directed crew to conduct thorough examination of all lifejackets in all outside lockers and in lifeboats. Crew found/removed ~250 lifejackets in total. 74 SOLAS 20 III/20.2
