Fire extinguishing systems and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use. PSCO observed the water mist system in the manual mode. The system is clearly marked to be left in the Remote mode at all times unless testing. No testing was being conducted at that time. SOLAS 74 (2014) II-2/14.2.1.2

Resolution: The Engine room is a Manned Engine Room. The crew switched the system back to the required Remote position to the satisfaction of the PSCO.
