A vessel with overnight accommodations for passengers must have an interconnected fire detection system installed in all enclosed areas where passengers and crew have routine access, including accommodation spaces and machinery spaces. An interconnected detection and alarm system must be installed such that the actuation of alarm in one area results in both audible and visual alarms in all areas to be protected by the interconnected detection and alarm system. MI observed fire detection in the forward accommodation space was not interconnected to the fire detection in the engine room and aft accommodation space. Vessel must assign stationed fire watch-stander in the forward accommodation space while carrying overnight passengers. Interconnect all fire detection within 7 days.

The pump outlet must be fitted with a pressure gauge. MI observed the fire pump pressure gauge reading was maintaining 40psi. Ensure fire pump maintains 60psi within 7 days.
