All portable fire extinguishers, semi-portable fire- extinguishing systems, fire-detection systems, and fixed fire-extinguishing systems, including ventilation, machinery shutdowns, and fixed fire extinguishing system pressure-operated dampers on board the vessel, must be inspected or tested at least once every 12 months, as prescribed in paragraphs (a)(1) through (8) of this section, or more frequently if otherwise required by the TSMS applicable to the vessel. Inspector found all fire extinguisher and fixed fire extinguishing system to be out of date for annual inspection. Last test was done in March of 2021.

Each integral fuel tank must have a vent that connects to the highest point of the tank, discharges on a weather deck through a bend of 180 degrees, and is fitted with a 30-by-30-mesh corrosion-resistant flame screen. Inspector found one fuel vent pipe that was missing the 30 x 30 mesh flame screen.
