Issued 11 January 2023 Resolved
Scantlings, material, and workmanship, subdivision of cargo spaces, fitting of cofferdams, and testing of tanks shall be at least equivalent to the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping or other recognized classification society. Vessel representative reported a allision with lock and dam to the port side bow rake. Attending inspector identified approximately 6' wide by 18-24" deep inset in the port bow rake with three visible 2"-5"cracks/tears in hull above the waterline. Vessel to remain void of cargo is prohibited from conducting cargo operations until permanent repairs are made. Temporary repairs completed. Vessel permitted to transit from current location at mm 47 OHR to TT Shipyard Mile 237 LMR, Baton Rouge, LA. While underway the following precautions will be made: - Have a dewatering pump on standby at the fwd rake. - Conduct periodic visual inspection of the fwd rake void. -Notify Local Coast Guard if conditions change. -Notify MSU Baton Rouge upon arrival at TT Shipyard [phone withheld].
