Issued 11 December 2022 Resolved
Scantlings, material, and workmanship, subdivision of cargo spaces, fitting of cofferdams, and testing of tanks shall be at least equivalent to the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping or other recognized classification society. Vessel representative reported a allision with lock and dam causing damage to the port bow. Attending inspector identified inset in port bow and port tow knee and raised deck IWO multiple port side overhead frames. Vessel permitted to transit from Campbell Congo mm 47 OHR to Ergon MM 46 OHR for cargo offload and back to Campbell Congo to affect permanent repairs. While underway the following precautions shall be made: - Have a dewatering pump on standby. - Conduct hourly inspection of space to monitor for water ingress and log in towing vessel record. -Notify MSU Pittsburgh upon vessel departures and arrivals. -Contact MSU Pittsburgh at [phone withheld] upon arrival back to Campbell Congo to schedule attendance by USCG Marine Inspectors.
