The barge was involved in a marine casualty at approximately 0100 hours on 04 MAY 2020. As a result, the KIRBY 29104 sustained damages to the barge, to include: a penetration of the hull above the waterline, and impact damage to the stern plating/knuckle which impact the barge seaworthiness. No extensive alterations involving the safety of the barge in regard to hull or machinery shall be made without approval of a CG Marine Inspector. Before such alterations are carried out, forward a repair proposal to the CG [name withheld] In addition, notification shall be made to your TBSIB coordinator, which is located in [name withheld].
