A crew accommodation space and work space must be of sufficient size, adequate construction, and with suitable equipment to provide for the safe operation of the vessel and protection of the crew. Vessel sustained damage to the galley due to a fire which rendered lighting, smoke detection, fire fighting and electrical fixtures inoperable in the space. Make repairs to the satisfaction of attending USCG Marine Inspector prior to further operations.
