Equipment shall be such as to ensure that all equipment are in all respects satisfactory for the service for which they are intended. One of the M/E lube oil purifiers has not been working for approximately 1 year. Parts have been removed from this purifier to keep the other one operational. No reports were found onboard that shows the company had been notified as per chapter 6.5.1 of their SMS.
