No repairs or alterations affecting the safety of the vessel or its machinery shall be made unless applicable requirements in this chapter are met. Vessel reported allision with Jackson Railroad Bridge. Barge is not permitted to conduct cargo operations until cleared by the Coast Guard. Third party survey detailing extent of damage should be submitted to local OCMI with company plan of action regarding permanent repair/forward intentions. 46 CFR 2.01-15

If damage or deterioration to the cargo tanks is discovered, the OCMI may require the vessel to be dry docked or otherwise taken out of service to further assess the extent of the damage and to effect permanent repairs. A 1.5 inch inset over a 4ft x 7ft area was found in the cargo tank on the STBD side, above the #1 void, and along the sheer strake. Significant pitting was also noted in multiple areas within this section. The company rep shall submit a plan and time line for the crop and renew, as original, to the satisfaction of the attending MI.

Scantlings, material, and workmanship, subdivision of cargo spaces, fitting of cofferdams, and testing of tanks shall be at least equivalent to the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping or other recognized classification society. CG Marine Inspectors received a report that the vessel was involved in an allision at Gates Fleeting Terminal with DBL 123. There is an inset approximately 4'X 3' and crack approximately 6" across the port head log gunnel and a 2" crack on the deck above the inset. The vessel is allowed a one time discharge. Vessel is to repair damage prior to cargo operations.
