If the buoyant apparatus does not have a painter attachment fitting, a means for attaching the painter must be provided by a wire or line which encircles the body of the device. Buoyant apparatus must have a fitting with an inside diameter of at least 50 mm (2 in.) for the attachment of a painter. The painter between #3 and #4 BA was fastened via the grab line, vice the manufacturer pendant, another painter, between #2 and #3 BA was fastened via the grab line fitting.
