Propulsion machinery, including main engines, reduction gears, shafting, bearings, and electrical equipment and systems, must be suitable for route and service. Vessel experienced and reported problem with port reduction gear. Vessel is authorized to proceed lightship to Aransas Marine Ways in Aransas Pass, TX for repair. Repairs to be made IAW company TSMS. Objective evidence attesting to satisfactory repair to be sent to Coast Guard in order to clear the 835. Vessel is not permitted to return to operations until cleared by Coast Guard. 46 CFR 143.205(c)(2)
