In the course of a CG led fire-drill, the crew didn't communicate the nature of the fire to the vessel CAPT, delayed their response while the fire pump was not activated due to lack of communication, and were not familiar with the use of the fire hose fitted with mechanical foam nozzle and pick-up tube. Crew must effectively perform fire-drill in the presence of vessel company's safety manager or representative to ensure it is done in accordance with company procedures.
