A vessel must be operated in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. IAW 46 CFR 142.330 each towing vessel must have a fire-detection system installed to detect engine room fires. Fire detection system was inoperable due to a lack of power (Corrected by end of inspection).

Towing vessel is required to have at least one marine radar installed IAW 33 CFR 164.72. Vessel reported the radar is currently inoperable and estimated time of repair is 3-5 days. Company wishes to continue operating vessel with restrictions. Vessel may operate during daylight hours only with favorable weather conditions without restricted visibility. Make permanent repairs to the radar within 14 days to the satisfaction of the Coast Guard marine inspector. A technician report that the radar has been repaired, tested and is fully operational is acceptable for proof of repair.
