All piping, controls, valves, and alarms must be inspected; and the operation of controls, alarms, ventilation shutdowns, and pressure-operated dampers for each fixed fire-extinguishing system and detecting system must be tested, to determine that the system is operating properly. Marine inspectors observed that the pressure switch for the vessel's CO2 system was heavily corroded. Upon testing the switch ventilation for the vessel's machinery space did not shutdown. Repair and test system by a qualified technician to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector prior to movement. 46 CFR 142.240(a)(5) 60c
