Marine Inspectors were unable to test overfill control system alarms due to inoperable alarm box. Repair or replace box and provide proof of proper operation to the satisfaction of the Marine Inspector.

Marine Inspector identified multiple areas of excessive pitting greater than 25% wastage around entire raised tank trunk. Vessel must gauge suspected areas and provide repair proposal to the satisfaction of the OCMI.

Any tank vessel which is equipped with an internal combustion engine driven cargo pump on the weather deck shall be provided with a minimum of one remote manual shutdown station, conspicuously marked, and located at the midpoint of such vessel, or 100 feet from the engine, whichever is the more practical. The remote quick acting manual shutdown shall be installed on the engine so as to provide a quick and effective means of stopping the engine (such as by cutting off the intake air).
Vessel Representative was unable to start the prime mover and therefore could not satisfactorily demonstrate an effective means to stop the engine.
