Survival craft must be stowed in accordance with the requirements of § 199.130 of this chapter, as far as is practicable on existing towing vessels. Each liferaft or group of liferafts must be arranged for float-free launching. The arrangement must ensure that the liferaft or liferafts, when released and inflated, are not dragged under by the sinking vessel. The vessel's painter was attached to the vessel in a way that would not allow it to float free. Vessel was shown the proper way to attach float free system. Ensure all liferafts on the vessel are arranged to allow float free to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

Vessel's starboard z-drive guard is removed. Securely fasten machinery guard in accordance to manufacturer's specifications.

Electrical conductors passing though watertight bulkheads must be installed so that the bulkhead remains watertight. Wires passing through the bulkhead in the engine room to the z-drive room were not water tight.
