Issued 3 February 2026 Resolved
The OCMI may require additional examinations of the vessel whenever he or she discovers damage to hull plating that may affect the seaworthiness of a vessel. These examinations may include a drydock examination, including: 1) An internal structural exam of affected space of vessel, including its fuel tanks; 2) A removal of the vessel from service to assess the extent of the damage and to affect permanent repairs. Vessel has bottom plate damage IWO port bow fuel tank causing water ingress into tank, caused by earlier event. Vessel shall affect temporary repairs to bottom plate IWO port bow fuel tank prior to proceeding to dock for removal of fuel/water mixture from tank. Permanent repairs shall be completed to the satisfaction of attending Marine Inspector prior to commercial operations.
