Each life raft must be arranged for float-free launching. The arrangement must ensure that the life raft or life rafts, when released and inflated, are not dragged under by the sinking vessel. Hydrostatic Release Unit was installed incorrectly which had the painter line secured to the cradle. Training was provided to the crew and the HRU was installed correctly during the inspection.

On 11AUG20 the vessel grounded just outside the navigation channel IVO the Port of Green Bay. The vessel's bow section grounded and the vessel became stuck and unable to free itself. As a result of the grounding the vessel is to have a damage survey conducted by it's Recognized Classification Society. Results of this survey and any resulting conditions of class are to be reported immediately to MSD Sturgeon Bay. If the survey reveals that there is no damage and there are no conditions of class the vessel may have this 835 cleared and signed off on by the attending Class Surveyor. Please contact the below Inspector with the damage survey findings.
