The discharge ends of vent pipes shall be fitted with removable flame screens or flame arresters. The flame
screens shall consist of a single screen of corrosion resistant wire of at least 30 x 30 mesh. The flame screens or flame arresters shall be of such size and design as to prevent reduction in the net cross sectional area of the vent pipe and permit cleaning or renewal of the flame screens or arrester elements. Fuel vent pipe was fitted to the compartment vent and fitted with no flame screen. Rectify deficiency within 7 days. 46 CFR 182.20-35(d)

On a vessel of at least 7.9 meters (26 feet) in length, a visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate a high water level in each of the following normally unmanned spaces. The vessels bilge alarms were inoperable and unable to alarm in case of an emergency.
