No extensive repairs to the hull or machinery which affect the safety of a vessel shall be made without the approval of the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI). Before such repairs are carried out, copies of plans and specifications for the work involved shall be forwarded to the OCMI. Vessel suffered a cargo pump room fire on the starboard side and must work with the local OCMI through the repair process to bring the vessel back to fit for service as required by the COI. A temporary repair plan has been submitted, reviewed, and approved by both ABS and USCG. The temporary plan must be followed in its entirety while conducting cargo operations. Any changes or modifications must have the approval of the [name withheld] final repairs are complete, they must be witnessed and verified by USCG marine inspector prior to deviating from the temporary arrangements.
