The design of the system and its installation on the towing vessel is certified and inspected by a registered professional engineer with experience in fire-detection system design, by a technician with qualifications as a National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) level IV fire alarm engineering technician, or by an authorized classification society with equivalent experience, to comply with paragraphs (a)(1) through (6) of this section. Provide proof that the current arrangement of the fire detection system to include all newly installed components is certified and inspected by a registered professional engineer with experience in fire-detection system design, by a technician with qualifications as a National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) level IV fire alarm engineering technician, or by an authorized classification society with equivalent experience. The certification letter must include verification that the fire-detection system as a whole with the new detectors installed, meets the requirements of 46 CFR 142.330(a)(1) thru (6).

Provide operating instructions for remote fuel oil shutoff at handles per 46 CFR 27.207

Illuminated magnetic compass or swing meter required under 33 CFR 164.72(a)(4)

Proved proof fire detection system in engineroom is approved by licensed professional engineer or class society as required under 46CFR27.203 See 46CFR27.203 (g) for requirements

Master of vessel does not have FCC restricted radio operators license as required under 33 CFR 164.72(a)(3)

Vessel does not have Illuminated magnetic compass as required under 33 CFR 164.72(a)(3)

Lines on Ring Buoys need to be replaced as required under 46 CFR 25.25-5(d)

Provide proof that fire detection system is certified.
