All electrical wires feeding into a panel box, shall be properly connected to prevent moisture from getting into the panel and prevent chaffing. The wires feeding into the SME Alarm panel, in the engine room, did not have any connectors, thus allowing moisture to enter the panel box and permitting the wires to chaff on the sharp edge of the holes on the panel. Install wires to the SME panel box, using connectors, that will prevent moisture from entering the panel and unnecessary chaffing.
