CI 1608 missed annual inspection window (ended 16 August 2017) and has been operating without a valid COI throughout the present day. Vessel is prohibited from continued operation until certificate of inspection can be renewed on board.

Vessel experienced a casualty with an open hopper barge at the jetty entrance to Bayou Baptiste Collette. Damage spanned 12'x15' in the port bow rake including several crused transverse frames. Vessel must submit a repair proposal and test repairs to the satisfaction of the attending CG Marine Inspector prior to carrying cargo.

Vessel sustained damage on the STBD-side deck knuckle to the void space at about Frame #3, approx. 40 to 45 feet aft of the bow rake (head log). The damage covers an area of approx. 3 feet (in length) by 2 feet (in height), with an exposed hole into the void space (with an in-set of approximately 8 inches). Prior to any new cargo operations, the vessel shall effect repairs to the affected area.

Resolution: Vessel replaced 4'X3' of side shell and sheer strake. All welds inspected and conducted water leak test. No leak evident. All repairs satisfactory.

Resolution: The (2) starboard stern quick closing valves which failed to fully close during the previous inspection closed completely and functioned properly. Vessel repaired to the satisfaction of the CG marine inspector.
