Every line above is a count of records the US Coast Guard wrote, or a date it recorded. A blank resolution means none was recorded in this data; it does not establish that a deficiency is outstanding. Years with a record are calendar years in which a record exists, not years in service. The vessel is equipped, and maintained to conform to the rules of a recognized classification society appropriate for the intended service and routes, but not classed. Vessel had a soft patch temporary repair between fuel tank and machinery space. Enact permanent repairs to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector.
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 11 October 2024 — due date passed with no resolution recorded
03 - Water/Weathertight Conditions › N/A - No Subsystem › Machinery space openings
Issued 7 September 2023 Resolved
Issued deficiency for a hole identified in the aft bulkhead of the engine room under the stbd shaft. Vessel was told to place a temp repair via splash zone on it until it could be repaired at the vessels next scheduled DD exam.
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 7 September 2025
Resolved 11 October 2024
Resolution: SECNOLA verified identified hole was temp patched but 835 was never issued and as a result was not corrected during scheduled dry dock earlier this year 2024. SECNOLA is closing this deficiency and will be issuing a new 835 under activity number: 8012361
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Other (machinery)
Issued 5 July 2023 Resolved
Fuel shutoff requirements to stop the flow of fuel in the event of a fire or break in the fuel line, a remote fuel shutoff valve must be fitted on any fuel line that supplies fuel directly to a propulsion engine or generator prime mover, be installed in the fuel piping directly outside of the fuel oil supply tank,be operable from a safe place outside the space where the valve is installed and be legibly marked. Fuel valve was inoperable, show proper operation to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector.
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Due 19 July 2023
Resolved 5 July 2023
Resolution: Received documentary evidence that the fuel shut off valves are fully operational and the crew has received training on operation and resetting of tripped valves.
07 - Fire Safety › N/A - No Subsystem › Oil accumulation in engine room
Issued 5 July 2023 Resolved
Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons on-board under normal and emergency conditions. Vessels bilges were unkempt and had excessive oil present. Identify and arrest leaks and clean bilges to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector.
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Due 19 July 2023
Resolved 7 July 2023
Resolution: Documentary evidence was received showing bilges clear of flammable material.
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Other (machinery)
Issued 22 December 2022 Resolved
Pressure vessels over 5 cubic feet in volume and over 15 pounds per square inch maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) must be equipped with an indicating pressure gauge (in a readily visible location) and with one or more spring-loaded relief valves. The total relieving capacity of such relief valves must prevent pressure from exceeding the MAWP, as established by the manufacturer, by more than 10 percent. MAWP on start air tanks is 200psi and relief valves were set to 235psi. 46 CFR 143.300(a)
Condition: Improper Installation
Action required: 60 - Rectify deficiencies prior to movement
Due 22 December 2022
Resolved 22 December 2022
Resolution: New pressure relief valves were installed.
07 - Fire Safety › N/A - No Subsystem › Other (fire safety)
Issued 22 December 2022 Resolved
Each towing vessel must be maintained and operated so as to minimize fire hazards and to ensure the following: (a) All bilges and void spaces are kept free from accumulation of combustible and flammable materials and liquids insofar as practicable. Racor filters did not have plug to prevent fuel oil leak into bilge. 46 CFR 142.220(a)
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 16 - Rectify deficiencies w/in 14 days
Due 5 January 2023
Resolved 22 December 2022

The Coast Guard's documentation record for this hull -- the Abstract of Title, with its owners and liens as filed -- is not in PSIX. Ask, and Maury buys it from the National Vessel Documentation Center, files it here with its date, and every reader of this page gets it.
