Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons on board under normal and emergency conditions. A Fuel line on the auxiliary engine ruptured, spilling approximately 5-10 gallons of fuel in the bilge. Ships crew made effective repairs to continue transit to next port of Seattle, WA. Make repairs available for inspection to an attending Marine Inspector or ABS Class surveyor.
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 15 - Rectify deficiencies by next port
