Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons onboard under normal and emergency conditions. MI was notified vessel lost main steering and is currently operating on secondary non-follow up steering. Vessel to transit to Turn Services with assist vessel and provide a TPO report to the satisfaction of the MI addressing the steering failure prior to any further movement.

Resolution: MI received ABS report of troubleshooting of engine components of vessel by technician. Loose electrical connection to engine ECM was re-tightened and tested. All was sat.
