Electrical distribution and junction boxes in the center area of the engine room are excessively corroded having liquid dripping from a leaking pipe flange joint connection approximately 20ft. above, inside the exhaust trunk which needs to be repaired at the next dry dock (due 28OCT2024). The electrical box enclosures must be repaired or replaced as needed to ensure proper protection of internal connections.

The rescue boat release mechanism has a shackle with a broken coder pin due to corrosion and the shackle bolt is completely corroded, which needs to be replaced with a bolt and coder pin of acceptable compatible material.

Complete but simple instructions for the operation of the systems must be located in a conspicuous place at or near all pull boxes, stop valve controls and in the CO2 cylinder storage room. On systems in which the CO2 cylinders are not within the protected space, these instructions must also include a schematic diagram of the system and instructions detailing alternate methods of discharging the system should the manual release or stop valve controls fail to operate. Marine Inspector observed several labels were missing on parts of both, the Engine Room and Emergency Generator Room CO2 systems, and therefore not in accordance with the respective instructions and schematic diagrams. Additionally, Step 2 and Step 3 on the instructions for the Engine Room CO2 pull box station did not align with each pull handle labeled Step 1 and Step 2.
