Issued 7 August 2019 Resolved

Each towing vessel's propulsion machinery, including main engines, reduction gears, shafting, bearings, and electrical equipment and systems must be maintained to ensure proper operation. Vessel experienced a reduction in propulsion. Starboard main engine shut down unexpectedly and was unable to be brought back online. Vessel is not permitted to push barges until the deficiency is corrected.

Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Resolved 7 August 2019
Resolution: Mechanic attended vessel and troubleshot engine. Replaced air starter and all engine filters with positive results.
